About Katherine Quimby
Kathy will always remember the day she pulled Beezus and Ramona off the shelf of her hometown library and read: "Ramona Quimby." Someone with her name was in a book!?!?!

Kathy holds an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA), where her work was recognized with a Norma Fox Mazer Scholarship. She also won a PEN-New England Susan P. Bloom Discovery Award.
Kathy taught in the Professional Writing Program at Champlain College until May 2020 and works with editorial clients in a number of fields.
Fun Facts:
Post-bedtime reading when Kathy babysat included a biography of Gertrude Stein.
When Kathy's played the witch in her high school's Hansel and Gretel (her sole theatrical performance), kindergartners were brought in to see her made up so they wouldn't be scared.
Kathy spricht deutsch und hat ein Jahr in Wien studiert.
Her sole (to-date) stand-up performance covered flat-chestedness and zombies.
Kathy and her husband have provided two generations of neighbor's cats with second homes. The current cat, Jackson, knows to knock on the door when he wants in.
