Beneath the looped envy-greens of trees,

eons-old hills hide rock-bound hearts.

Stern and strong, they have no need 

for temporary frippery,

for wind-flapped, bright-striped tents,

and the wonders hidden inside.

Ah, but when did need alone suffice?

When were need and desire ever the same?
